Reminder from the Assessor's Office
Mark A. Musick, Assessor of Monongalia County, would like to remind everyone of three important deadlines:
- September 1 is the last day to submit farm applications for Tax Year 2026. If you have not received a form or have questions, please call 304-291-7225. You may also file your farm form online by clicking here.
- September 1 is the last day to submit business personal property returns for Tax Year 2026. If you have not received a form or have questions, please call 304-291-7224.
- October 1 is the last day to submit your personal property assessment returns to avoid any late fees. If you have not received your personal property assessment returen for Tax Year 2026, please contact our office at 304-291-7222. You may also file your personal property return by clicking here.

You can also call 304-284-7328 for questions about filing online. Please include your full name, address, phone number and vehicle information, including your VIN, with your inquiries. Starting late March, the Appraisal Unit's field deputies will begin conducting parcel reviews for TY 2026 in the county districts listed below. Commercial staff will assess any ongoing new construction across all districts. All staff will have proper clothing identifying the office in addition to employee ID tags and marked vehicles. For any questions regarding staff performing field duties, call 304-291-7222 then press 3 for the Appraisal Unit. Districts in bold are currently being assessed.
